The modern breeding managment of Pigs tends to utilize ever more intensive methods. A lot of animals reproduce or live in limited spaces. The production exasperation requires rapid increases of meat as specified by transformation industries. Very important therefore is the management of Swine nutrition. In this regard our Company UVL SpA has created ZIMOFERMENT. A product obtained from specific inocules cultivated in Broth culture which is exclusive and safeguarded by Manufacturing Patent. It is a highly technological product capable of activating metabolic processes. The use of this biological feed additive ZIMOFERMENT in swine breeding has shown a better healthy state of the animal as well as optimum feed assimilation and increased production of meat weight. The selection and stimulation of the microflora population together with the contribution of vitamin complex B and free amino acids, espescially Lysine, have shown an energetic action hepato-protective and hepato-stimulant. The biological feed additive ZIMOFERMENT contains phytases, enzymes which allow a better assimilation of organic phosphor present in diet nutrients , making possible the reduction of phosphate supplements in the feed for swine, and thereby reducing phosphor- rate in sewage and in zootechnical waste. The digestive action provided by the rich presence of free enzymes and microbiological complex of the Yeasts, the blocking action of abnormal intestinal fermentation due to better control of the digestive catabolism, the chemio-prevention assured by the limitation of the development of pathogenic flora in favour of the digestive “beneficial” flora, have in their totality manifested a clear auxinic function of the product in respect of increased growth and increased feed conversion rate. For lactating swines and those in pregnancy, a continous use of ZIMOFERMENT has allowed to achieve an improvement of all reproductive parameters in various ambient conditions, with animals genetically different and with different types of feeding. For piglets in weaning phase, ZIMOFERMENT has shown an increased action of chemio-prevention with regard to enteric infections, an increased weight gain and a better feed conversion rate. The transmission of an appropriate microflora which sets the first colonization of the digestive-tract of the animals has shown to be a valid scientific technique. Concerning the use of feed producs in which milk-serum is present, practical trial tests have shown the absence of negative interference between the ZIMOFERMENT enzymes and those of the milk-serum due to the fact they originate from biological substances and as such provide action of synergism.
